    Executive Chairman

    Brian Lock brings over 40 years of experience in the mining industry including engineering, construction, and operations in his roles as Chief Electrical Engineer of a German mining company, two Canadian consulting firms, as President and owner of Proton Engineering and Construction, and development of numerous precious and base metal mines in many parts of the world. Brian has also held several positions as a Director, Executive VP, President, and CEO of several public mining companies including Frontier Pacific Mining, Castle Peak Mining and Scorpio Gold Corporation.

  • Niel Marotta

    Chief Executive Officer

    Niel Marotta is a seasoned executive with an exceptional track record of leadership, investment expertise, and entrepreneurial success. Prior to joining Sun Summit Minerals, he was a top-performing fund manager at Fidelity Management and Research Company (FMR Co.) in Boston, where he managed over $1 billion across multiple industries, including the Fidelity Select Gold Portfolio, a precious metals equity focussed fund. Mr. Marotta also served as Vice President of Orezone Resources, playing a key role in its $350 million acquisition by Iamgold in 2009.  He has worked as an investment banker and entrepreneur and was involved with financings and M&A transactions exceeding $1 billion and was also the co-founder and CEO of Indiva. Mr. Marotta holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction from McGill University.

  • Andrew B. Carstensen, P. Geo.

    Director

    Andrew Carstensen is a professional geologist who has over 35 years of experience in mineral exploration within both major mining and junior exploration sectors. He is currently the VP Exploration at Luminex Resources and Chief Geologist for Lumina Gold Corp. and is technical advisor to a private copper-silver exploration venture in Poland. Prior to this, Mr. Carstensen held senior management roles at Geologix Exploration and Manhattan Minerals with the founders of Sun Summit Minerals. Mr. Carstensen holds BA and MS degrees in Geology from the University of Montana and is a Certified Professional Geologist with AIPG.

  • Craig B. Prenter, CGA, CPA

    Director

    Craig Prenter is a Partner at Manning Elliott, Accountants & Business Advisors. Mr. Prenter was admitted as a member of the Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia in 1996. Mr. Prenter joined NTA, Chartered Accountants in 1992 and was admitted as a Principal in 2007. Mr. Prenter’s practice areas include individual, corporate, estate and trust taxation, succession and tax planning, and general business advisory practices. He has completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Course and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation.

  • Purni Parikh

    Director

    Purni Parikh has over 25 years of public company experience in the mining sector including corporate affairs and finance, legal and regulatory administration, and governance. Ms. Parikh is President of the Augusta Group of Companies and Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs of Solaris Resources Inc. and Augusta Gold Corp. Ms. Parikh was previously President of Titan Mining Corporation. She was also Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary of Arizona Mining Inc. and Newcastle Gold Ltd., and Vice President, Corporate Secretary Augusta Resource Corporation and Ventana Gold Corp. prior to their acquisition. Ms. Parikh obtained a Certificate in Business from the University of Toronto and a Gemology degree. She holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and has worked extensively with boards.
